"Style is way to say who you are without having to speak."

Sometimes I wish that my blog would be fashion blog with inspirational outfits and text. 

Outfits that would inspire others to be brave with their style. 

But the reality is, my clothes and style is boring and that I am a students with student's budget.

I admire people who have their own personal style, who are bold dressers.  I would love to be one of them. 

 But first I need money to buy new clothes, courage to dress the way I want to dress, more self-confidence and find my own style, my own voice. 

So I guess, I should start saving money. Baby steps.

.....I am a woman...strong and proud...I only decide to hide behind shades because you in your civilized world could never properly "categorize" "ME".....

But let me tell you about myself....

You already see the beauty of woman that I am....I am the epitome of beauty...but all you can see is the colors of the rainbow....here is my life on each spectrum.....

Red - the fire and passion...I am the original Earth tone of fire that keeps my passion for Life burning strong...

Orange - a name so rich with vitamins of health that I associate myself with it...the name of  "Laura" might as well fit right here because, to be anything less is to be...

Yellow - most often associated with being a coward. But, in my world, to be "yellow" is to be associated with the strongest part of our known universe...the Sun...I am the Sun in my world....I am infinite strength....I am the nourishment of souls I'll never meet but know live on by my words

Green - Jealousy to those who can't see that I am a woman of the Earth...I am a woman who loves Mother Earth so dearly that my snapshots of Life always have the signature of Green because I  am envious of how much more of our "Mother" I still have yet to travel and show my love and respect for.....

Blue - I am the calm that stands on a sunny day on a beach...I am the naked woman in the middle of the blues of waters beneath me that breathe life and blues above me that remind me of the place that my  beautiful naked soul will go when it is all done only to cry beautiful naked blue tears into the same level of medium that one will hopefully stand at....nude with no feelings other than understanding.....

Purple - The color of "controversy"...the color that "disturbs" the beauty of the colors above...but the color that makes the rest complete with....the color of mystery....the color I can find solace in...I was never to be fit into the colors from before...I became Purple by being the exception to the rule...but you know what??..I am Purple because my color is so much power in a world that can't see my mix...I am Purple because I am the "weird" to what is your norm....I am Purple  because I am the color that was looked over but made the most sense...

I am all colors...because without me, your world is just Black and White...and my colors of the Rainbow bring "wrong" to "right"

one of a kind

"I have pimples, I have blackheads, my face is not symmetrical, I have scars, I have moles, things that I don't like and I am insecure about. My face is round shape like a lollipop, my cheeks are like big red apples and my nose is like a potato (I was called potato nose when I was little). My eyes are like brown almonds, small but round.  And my teeth, my horse teeth like one girl said once.
I have dark features, more like south european. Almost daily I have to convince that I am Finnish and my both parents are 100% born in Finland, people even ask am I sure, like I don't know where I am from.

At first it was really difficult to look different, not like my friends. Some girls bullied me at school, having braces and glasses didn’t help at all. I standed out in the crowd, and when you are a kid you want to look like everyone else. It wasn’t cool to look different. I had issues about the way my face looked, the way I looked.

It is sad how mean people can be,when you are a kid  and even when you are an adult.

I don’t need your negative words about my look, I know how I look and what I like or don’t like about it.

Growing up has been a lot of struggle, I still hear how my nose looks ugly or my skin is too dark on summer but now my own attitude is different. I don’t care, uniqueness is richness. I don’t fit in to the Finnish label, and that is more than fine.  I appreciate and highlight my differences, even my potato nose and horse teeth, I love to stand out and tell people that I am Finnish, I am just breaking the stereotypes. I am one of a kind!"

This is my article for my Zine I made at university. I wish I could always be as confident as the last words I wrote in the article but the reality is I am quite insecure person.

So please girls, boys focus on the good and beautiful things that people have, leave the negativity and bullying, no one wins with bad attitude.

Just because it is pretty

My weekend started today,

 I mean I have a lot to do, mostly university things like research book, I have to come up with the idea of my zine theme (I still have no idea what is going to be the theme, anyone, ideas?),I have to look for inspiration and stay inspired.

 Staying inspired all the time has been the most difficult and challenging thing. I should get inspiration from everywhere, analyze everything like what is the story behind the editorials, why the lighting is like it is, why that man is wearing a black shirt, why her eyes are closed etc. To ask question after question, everything have to have meaning and a reason.

 You can't style editorials and say that you used the red skirt just because it is pretty, no. 

But that is why I'm studying here, to learn things. And I have to say, I have so much to learn!

he knows the body

First project.

Have you ever heard about designer Azzedine Alaia?

If your answer is no, google it. He is AMAZING designer, I think there is no one who knows woman´s body better than him.

At the beginning I didn't even know who he is.

Even though I was sometimes annoyed that I got a designer that I didn't even know, now I´m so glad that I got him. 

I got to know amazing, unique, timeless designer.

It was really hard project, I mean he has really unique style and he don't follow fashion. There was days that I was ready to cry and go home. And I didn't expect that we were doing our first projects in group. But of course that is a great way to get to know each other.

One month, all about Alaia, his store, his life, designs, future, research book about him, people he has worked with etc.  

 My highlight was a visit to his store,where I saw the real beauty of his designs. There I realized why women love him, like Naomi Campbell and so many more.

He has a lot of loyal customers. 

Alaia cuts his own clothing patterns and sews the samples himself.Alaïa has always made the clothes he wants to make, at his rhythm, showing them when it pleases him, selling only to stores he likes and delivering them when he wants.The fashion shows are only for his friends and family.

We wanted something simple but stylish at the same time.
